Ladder safety toolbox talk

Ladders are the most-used piece of access equipment on most sites and the least-inspected. Most ladder incidents come down to three things: the ladder was damaged before anyone climbed it, it was not long enough for the landing, or it was the wrong ladder to have near live electrical work.

Requirements cited are federal OSHA (29 CFR 1926). States running their own occupational safety and health plans can impose different or stricter rules. This talk is aligned with 29 CFR 1926 but is not OSHA-approved, and your employer's competent person is responsible for what happens on the jobsite.
